For me, to be grateful for the good in our lives is such a powerful thing. Gratitude has not only got me through difficult and challenging times, and away from negative thinking, but also enabled me to move towards my desired goals. What helps me most is to focus on the good in my life, both around and within me, so I write down one or two things I am grateful for at that time, and how those things can help me to get through a particular day or situation. It could be that I'm grateful for friends that I can discuss things with, the support of family, or for the skills I have learnt. It puts me in a positive state and reminds me of the resources I have in my life.
